Transparency Indexes
date is the date of the FOMC meetingsequence this orders each speaker utterance within the meetingname is the last name of the speakern_utterance which utterance by the current speaker within the meeting (e.g. the tenth time Greenspan spoke is 10)section in which section of the meeting was the current utternance a part of (either ECSIT for the discussion of the economic situation, MPS for a discussion of monetary policy, or AGGREGATES for biannual discussions of the monetary aggregates. Note: In the paper I used these values from Hansen, McMahon, and Prat, but I did this starting in 1995 myself in this file. text the text of the utterance date is the date of the FOMC meetingsequence this sorts the paragraphs within each set of minutes doctype is either ROPA when I use the Record of Policy Actions, or MINUTES when I used the minutes (not the "historical minutes"). See the paper for details. section indicates which part of the meeting the paragraph is summarizing. For the discussion of the economic situation, I combine STAFF_ECSIT,STAFF_FINSIT,STAFF_OUTLOOK,FOMC_ECON. For the policy discussion, I use FOMC_POLICY.
